This photograph was taken on one of my many day trips to Yellowstone National Park during my residency in Montana. I love the bison and all that they represent. I loved getting to see them throughout all seasons of the year; mating season when displays were high, the winter braving deep snows, and calving season in the spring. They are such beautiful and resilient creatures.
